Terms of Use

Last updated: June 2, 2026

By installing and using Cliché, you accept these terms. If you don't agree, simply don't use the app — no hard feelings.

The app

Cliché is published by Melvin Bouvier. It's a photo and video sorting application that runs on iOS and Android.

Your license to use it

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use Cliché. You're not buying the app itself: you're getting the right to use it, on your devices, in line with the App Store and Play Store terms.

You agree not to decompile or reverse-engineer the app, not to bypass the paywall, and not to use it in any unlawful way or one that would harm the service.

Intellectual property

The name "Cliché", the logo, the design, the texts and the code of the app belong to us (or are used under license). You may not reuse them without permission.

Your photos, however, remain 100% yours. Cliché acquires no rights over your content. We don't see it, don't store it, don't touch it — we just help you sort it.

Sorting and deleting your photos

Cliché is a sorting tool: you decide what to keep and what to delete. You are solely responsible for those choices.

When you delete a photo or video through Cliché, the app asks your operating system to move it. It is not erased immediately and permanently: it goes to "Recently Deleted" (iOS) or the trash (Android), where it stays recoverable for about 30 days before the system deletes it for good.

This safety net is managed by iOS and Android, not by us. We cannot recover a photo for you — remember to check that folder if you change your mind in time. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for photos or videos you chose to delete.

Purchases

Cliché is free. Two paid versions unlock extra features:

These are one-time purchases. There is no subscription: you pay once, it's yours, with no recurring charge. (Prices are shown in your local currency by the App Store / Play Store.)

All payments are processed by Apple or Google through their platforms. Refunds are therefore governed by their terms:

We have no access to your payment methods and cannot process a refund directly.

Your statutory consumer rights (including any legal warranty of conformity) are not affected by these terms.

Promo codes

Cliché promo codes are redeemed through the App Store or Play Store. They have no monetary value, cannot be resold, exchanged for cash, or transferred, and remain subject to Apple's and Google's terms.

Availability and "as is"

We do our best to keep Cliché running well, but the app is provided "as is", with no guarantee that it's free of every bug or available without interruption. Since it works offline, you're thankfully not dependent on an online service to use it.

Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by applicable law, Melvin Bouvier shall not be liable for indirect damages, nor for the loss of data or photos resulting from your use of the app or your deletion choices.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability where the law prohibits it (for example in case of gross negligence, or for the statutory warranties you enjoy as a consumer).

Changes

We may update these terms. The current version is always the one published on this page, with its date. By continuing to use Cliché after an update, you accept the new terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by French law. As a consumer, you keep the benefit of the mandatory protective provisions in force in your country of residence.
